Impact of Post-operative Radiological Parameters on Total Knee Arthroplasty Functional Outcome
نویسندگان
چکیده
BACKGROUND: Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is effective in treating end-stage osteoarthritis. Nevertheless, 20% of patients remain unsatisfied with the outcome at 1 year. AIM: The aim our study was to identify radiological parameters influencing functional result and patient’s quality life (QOL). METHODS: We conducted a retrospective observational who underwent primary TKA between 2015 2019. Standard radiographs were used assess alignment parameters, patellar height, implant size. Knee function assessed using Society Score (KSS) QOL through “Sfax modified Western Ontario McMaster Universities osteoarthritis index (WOMAC).” RESULTS: One hundred twenty cases analyzed. results terms showed on average: an overall 2.41° varus, coronal orientation femoral component 5.49° valgus, tibial 2.16° flexion 0.7°, slope 2.6° posterior orientation. identified 19 Patella baja (PB) seven pseudo PB. 18 oversizing six undersizing. oversized ten undersized three cases. Global limb significantly influenced KSS WOMAC scores. There also significant association function, QOL. Femoral size overhang influence only score. CONCLUSION: radiography can be reliable evaluate TKAs. According results, we may suggest checklist aiming optimize It should include mechanical limb, component, prevention iatrogenic tendon shortening, precision choice.

متن کاملFunctional outcome following primary total knee arthroplasty cannot be predicted using the initial post-operative radiograph.
Obtaining standardised post-operative radiographs following total knee arthroplasty is common practice. Little is known regarding how measurements taken from the initial post-operative radiograph correlate to functional outcome. The initial post-operative radiographs for 110 primary total knee arthroplasties were reviewed retrospectively. Femoral and tibial component alignment was measured by t...
متن کاملComparison of Clinical, Functional, and Radiological Outcomes of Total Knee Arthroplasty Using Conventional and Patient-Specific Instrumentation
Background: Recently, patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) systems have been developed in order to increase theaccuracy of component positioning during total knee arthroplasty (TKA); however, the findings of previous studies arecontroversial in this regard. In the current randomized clinical study, the outcomes of computer tomography (CT)-basedPS (patient specific)-guided TK...
متن کاملPost-Operative Hypertension after Total Knee Arthroplasty and the Effects on Transfusion Rates
Transfusions are a cause of significant patient morbidity as well as expense. Anesthesia literature has examined controlled intraoperative hypotension as a means for reducing blood loss and transfusions. Our hypothesis is that inversely increased blood pressure post-operatively would then lead to increased blood loss and transfusions. We examined 105 consecutive patients who underwent TKA. We fo...
